The clementine is a type of citrus fruit, probably created by crossing a mandarin with a sweet or bitter orange. It originated in Algeria, and the name by which it is now known was given to it in the 19th century after its discoverer, Abbot Clémant Rodiera.
The clementine is a small fruit, easily confused with a mandarin, with an intense orange color, a slightly flattened shape, exceptionally sweet flesh and a skin that does not resist separation from the fruit too much. This exceptionally tasty and healthy fruit has a high content of vitamins - A, group B, C - and minerals - zinc, potassium, magnesium, manganese, calcium and iron.
Clementine is a delicious snack and a delicious addition to dessert.
