Guar gum is a natural substance that binds water, increases viscosity, and has stabilizing properties. It is a powder with good water solubility that forms a medicinal solution. It is obtained from the endosperm of the seeds of the plant Cyamopsis tetragonoloba, which belongs to the Fabaceae family. It grows in India and Pakistan.
Guar gum is widely used in the food industry, where it can be distinguished as E412. This rubber is also used in the paper and textile industries. It binds cellulose fibers and is used to coat paper. In fabric production, it is a paste thickener for color printing. It is also used as an electrolyte thickener in batteries, adhesives, pastes, and printing inks.
Guar gum is used as a gelling and thickening agent as well as a carrier and stabilizer.
