DESCRIPTION
Unroasted buckwheat groats 500g Targroch
- source of fibre and protein
- rich in unique amino acids
- for meat dishes and stuffings
Unroasted buckwheat grains are the most valuable of all buckwheat, and their value has been known for a long time. Buckwheat grains are fine and cream-coloured. Unroasted grains have a less intense and more delicate flavour than the roasted version.
Buckwheat grains are a good source of protein, better absorbed than those from cereals, and are also rich in dietary fibre, which stimulates intestinal peristalsis.
Buckwheat groats contain unique essential amino acids, that is, amino acids that must be supplied to the body through the diet. One of them is lysine, which is essential for building proteins in muscles and bones and also has a beneficial effect on mental state.
In addition, buckwheat is rich in B vitamins, which have a positive effect on the nervous system, and in significant amounts of mineral salts that support the immune system (calcium, phosphorus, magnesium), as well as iron, zinc and iodine.
Buckwheat groats go perfectly with meat dishes, stews or sauces. Combined with cheese, vegetables or mushrooms, they can make a delicious stuffing for pancakes, dumplings or stuffed cabbage rolls. Ground groats can also be used to make bread, cakes or pastries.

APPLICATION:
Rinse the groats and pour water over them (2 cups of water per cup of groats). Place the pot over a low heat and cook the porridge for about 10 to 15 minutes. It is best not to stir the groats, as they stick, but if the heat is low, they should not burn. A teaspoon of oil can be added. Remove the groats from the heat, cover them and place them in a warm spot so they absorb the remaining water. In this way, all the water in which the groats cooked stays inside and is not poured down the sink.
