Walnuts are an ideal snack. It is important to remember that they are rich in calories but have many beneficial health properties that strongly encourage their consumption. They are a great source of omega-3 fatty acids; 2 walnuts cover our daily need for this omega. They also contain L-arginine, coenzyme Q10, ellagic acid and phenolic acid. These have a positive effect on the cardiovascular system and immunity. In 100 g of walnuts, there are about 15 g of protein, 136 g of carbohydrates and 6 g of fibre. However, nuts are above all a source of valuable fats in the diet.
