Koen Wholemeal Apple Pie 200g

Apple pie, although it may seem inseparable from Polish cuisine, originates from France. This confection, composed of shortbread or semi-shortbread and fruit, was probably invented by Marie-Antoine Carême, the court cook of Tsar Alexander I. Apple pie probably owes its name to Princess Charlotte, the emperor's sister-in-law and later tsarina. In Poland, better known by its common name of cider, apple pie is sometimes enriched with ingredients such as cinnamon or cloves. Prepared from wholemeal flour, apple pie is a delicious snack and a delicious dessert. Recommended for coffee, tea, everyday and on vacation, it introduces a warm, family atmosphere and uplifts the spirit.
